Helpful Texas Holdem Poker Tips and Tricks

To become a successful online Texas Holdem player check out the following tips,

  1. According to the pros, play starting hands with high pairs or combinations. The more money raised in the pot before the flop will flush out the weaker hands giving you a higher chance of taking the pot after the flop.

  2. Lower and medium cards that are unsuited are normally worthless. Starting hands that contain these should be folded straight away.

  3. Play low pairs cautiously. If you are not in the blind positions where seeing the flop would be free or cheaper, you might consider folding. If the flop doesn’t make your low pair hand stronger, your hand is pretty useless at this point and must be folded anyway.

  4. Play aggressively if after the flop you have a two way straight draw, a flush draw or are holding three of a kind.

  5. After the flop, bet an Ace or two high cards, if the flop is worthless (three unsuited low cards). However is someone bets big after such a low flop, you should fold your high cards.

  6. Learn all the possible card combinations. A low flop can actually be useful if your hole cards connect with them. For example, if you are holding two clubs and the flop contains 3 low cards but two of them are also clubs, you have a good shot at drawing a flush.

  7. Learn to bluff. You can take big pots with a lousy hand if you bluff correctly. Also learn how to read your opponents. There are many players who show their emotions and you can use it against them.

  8. Also use the conditions of the players against them. For example, if you can see that one player is drunk – they may tend to make irrational moves. You can profit off this knowledge.

  9. Vary our strategy in order to confuse the other players. If occasionally you play a weak hand, the other players won’t know what to expect from you in the next round.
